I am a fan of Ellen…………and that has nothing to do with her sexuality. Her aura is infectious, humor is hilarious, and her humanitarian efforts are generous. None of those traits has nothing to do with who she chooses to love, only her integrity and character. Pastor and author Larry Tomack disagree with her influence on people. The op-ed alleges that the out-and-proud star has been pushing an “immoral,” “indecent,” “shameful,” and “unnatural” lifestyle with her show.
Wow, so he is belittling making a highly syndicated and beloved show, which is not only known for Ellen’s bubbly and fun conversations with celebrities; she does a great deal of charity work with giving deserving citizens things that they would never have if she did not intervene. She gives to armed forces, mothers, and working class people and suddenly her show is being minimalized to her sexual identity. Please Pastor Larry give me a break. Instead of pointing out Ellen and other open homosexuals for living their truth, concentrate on your task at hand…………..leading your sheep and being the biblical example for them. I am pretty sure bullying people, who are proud of who they are do not fit under the umbrella of Christian love.
Ellen responded the with exceptional class and charm;
“I don’t usually read anything about myself,” DeGeneres began in her monologue on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “But I heard there was an article written about me and I would like to address it right now. It’s a pastor who wrote an article for the Christian Post where he accuses Hollywood of having a gay agenda and said that ‘Ellen DeGeneres celebrates her lesbianism and ‘marriage’ in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls.'”
“First of all, I’m not ‘married,'” she continued. “I’m married. That’s all, that’s all, and I’m just married.”
Larry, I don’t even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism. I mean. Well, I guess I do, it’s like that!” DeGeneres added, pulling a party popper out of her pocket and popping it. “I’m gay!” Larry, the only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another,” DeGeneres said. “That is the message that I’m sending out. I don’t have an agenda. I’m not here to brainwash anyone.”
The bottom line is that as a mature human, we should know that our reality and truth is not right for all humanity. Even if we disagree with the way someone choose to live, we should respect it if it’s not exploiting or harming others. The world has turned into a big ass terrorist attack, we are killing one another, the police are killing us………..and we care about who Ellen is married to. CARRY ON!
